The renowned theologian, author and Rector of St Mark’s Darling Point will explore Psalm 8 and the question of human vocation.
St Saviour’s Cathedral in Goulburn will host its inaugural Annual Lecture, sponsored by the Friends of St Saviour’s Cathedral, on Saturday 19 September. The lecture begins at 11.00am and will be held at St Saviour’s Cathedral, 170 Bourke Street, Goulburn.
This new annual lecture series aims to foster thoughtful engagement with Christian theology and its relevance to contemporary life while bringing leading Anglican voices to the Goulburn community.

The guest speaker will be Reverend Dr Michael Jensen, Rector of St Mark’s Anglican Church, Darling Point, and a well-known theologian, author and speaker. Through his preaching, writing and public engagement, Dr Jensen explores theology, ethics, culture and the Christian life, helping Christians reflect on how faith speaks to contemporary questions of identity, freedom, relationships, suffering and meaning.
Dr Jensen is the author of numerous books on themes including forgiveness, hope, wisdom and freedom, and is co-host of the podcast With All Due Respect.
His lecture, titled A Crown That Doesn’t Seem to Fit: Psalm 8, Dominion, and the Question of Human Vocation, will examine the biblical vision of humanity’s place and purpose within God’s creation, drawing on the rich theological themes of Psalm 8.
