Things to do in and around Tathra

 Tathra Wharf

The old wharf is the only coastal steamer wharf remaining on the NSW coast. It also features a Maritime Museum. It is listed under the register of the National Estate and is preserved by the National Trust. A stone’s throw away from the old wharf is the historic Tathra Pub with its magnificent ocean views.

 Beaches and Water Activities

Tathra has a range of beaches and waterways, including Tathra Beach, Mogareka Inlet and Kianinny Bay. All offer excellent surfing, swimming , sailboarding, boating and watersports. Kianniny Bay is also a known fossil site.

Angler’s Paradise

The Sapphire Coast precinct, encompassing Tathra, Merrimbula, Pambula and Eden is a haven for fishermen. There is deep sea, beach and river fishing on offer as well as the  Wharf for relaxing with a line in the water. For something a little different why not try prawning in Mogareka.

National Parks

Bournda National Park / Wallagoot Lake offers a network of walking trails, lagoons, beach access and wildlife.
