It was wonderful to celebrate the induction of Reverend John Thomas to the Parish of Cobargo (Bermagui and Quaama) on Saturday 15th January 2022. The service was presided over by Bishop Mark. Unfortunately numbers were limited due to COVID.

Reverend John and his wife Christine were then welcomed at a casual outside afternoon tea following the service. A beautiful basket of local produce and a decorated fruit cake were presented by parishioners.

Reverend John has just completed a lengthy stint as locum to the Parish of Bega. He made special mention of his predecessor at Cobargo, Reverend Martin Christensen, who filled the locum position at Cobargo, travelling between Canberra and the far south coast during the past year.

Farewell to Revd Martin Christensen; (L-R) Revd Martin Christensen, Cath Christensen, Nancy Whackett and Richard Parker

The parish looks forward to Reverend John’s ministry as we continue to recover from the challenges of drought, bushfires and the effects of COVID.
