Wednesday 22 April, was a very special day at The Riverina Anglican College as we opened Stage 1 Build of our Junior School. With the easing of COVID restrictions, we were very grateful to be able to invite a small number of honoured guests to join Junior School staff and students in acknowledging and celebrating this momentous occasion.

Principal, Mr Paul Humble and Board Chair, Mr Colin May welcomed guests including Dr Joe McGirr MP; Mayor Greg Conkey; Founding Chair, Mr Neil Stubbs; Founding Principal, Dr Ian Grant; Venerable Dr Grant Bell and Diocesan General Manager, Mr Trevor Ament. We were honoured to have The Right Reverend Dr Mark Short declare the building officially open with the unveiling of a plaque.
The Hon Michael McCormack, Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Riverina, was unfortunately unable to attend, however, we were very pleased to receive his words of encouragement via video message.
‘I do not need to express the importance of good education to the audience today because it is clear you all appreciate this fact because you are here celebrating this moment. The Federal Government recognises this and that is why we have provided $900,000 in funding through the Capital Grants Program to ensure that this junior school further enhances the already outstanding facilities and offerings at TRAC … This wonderful school community, your wonderful school community, will be even better with the addition of these six learning spaces and indeed a flexible learning area as well as student amenities and an administration area.’

Principal Paul Humble addressed the students, saying ‘You make this school with your energy, your fun, your laughter, your learning and growth. They inspire all of us that are here today to be the best that we can be so that we can be there for you each and every day. Thank you for being the first students at our wonderful Junior School.’
