When you think of Christmas, is it mainly a time of contemplation or consumption?
Anglican Overseas Aid is once again producing their ever-popular Advent reflection booklets. This year the booklets highlight the contrast between Presence over presents.
“Rather than focus specifically each week on the popular themes of hope, love, joy and peace, this year we are journeying through Advent in a way that shows that the implications of the coming of Christ are not time bound”, says Revd Dr Bob Mitchell, Anglican Overseas Aid’s CEO.
Ideal as a personal reflection, small group study guide, or whole of church resource, this booklet is once again free to any person or church that requests them.
The booklets have again been translated into Mandarin Chinese, and this year the further step has been taken to also translate them into the Dinka language for our South Sudanese friends.
Revd Daniel Bol, Chair of Dinka Clergy in Victoria, says, “We are very grateful that Anglican Overseas Aid has taken this step to provide a resource for the Dinka congregations to deepen their connection to the traditions of the Church”.
As Advent starts on 3 December, we urge you to order your copies of the booklets from Anglican Overseas Aid as soon as possible. Please contact us on 1800 249 880 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
