From humble beginnings, F5 Refresh Ministries, Goulburn, came into existence seven years ago as place of refreshment and worship for the churched and unchurched. Together with its sister congregation, Rocky Hill Church, F5 Refresh has just celebrated its anniversary with a large attendance in the hall at Christ Church, West Goulburn, and of course a birthday cake.
Bishop Mark Short was the guest speaker, and gave a refreshing view of John’s Gospel, Chapter 1, verses 43 to 51. A transformational event, when Jesus called Philip to join Him. Philip in turn became involved, and went out and invited his brother, Nathanael, to come and meet Jesus. Bishop Mark reminded us that throughout Christian history, there have been many events well documented that we celebrate throughout the year. But in particular he reminded us that we have experienced a transformational event in having a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ. It didn’t just happen, we were invited, and became involved. Bishop Mark left us with the challenge: it’s time to invite others.
‘Now that’s worth celebrating! Let us celebrate what F5 Refresh Ministries is about – inviting the disconnected and the lost to come and have
an encounter with Jesus Christ!’
F5 Refresh has several ongoing activities, including its F10 Monday group which is currently hosting seminars on ageing with speakers covering topics such as Advanced Care Planning, Legal Planning, and Funeral Planning. F5 Refresh has also been asked to conduct a public service of blessing for the City of Goulburn and surrounding areas in Belmore Park, Goulburn, as part of the commencement of the Lilac Time Festival to be held over the October long weekend.
